Every two years, Porto is home to the races at Circuito da Boavista. Split between two weekends, the Circuito da Boavista events host races as diverse as the WTCC, Single Seaters, Classic Cars, etc.

Entirely built around city roads, the 21st century version of Circuito da Boavista is recognized as one of the best street circuits in the world.

Bearing the same name as the old Circuito da Boavista, home to Formula 1 races in 1958 and 1960, the new version is shorter than the original but still very demanding from the technical perspective. As there are no run-off areas, mistakes will almost always end with a visit to the crash barriers.

Being a very flowing and narrow circuit, overtaking is also a difficult task for cars of similar performance. Guaranteeing a good starting grid position on qualifying can make all the difference here.

Sixties Endurance

Part of the Historical Grand Prix 2013, the Sixties Endurance race is open to cars manufactured before 1966. The regulations state that these cars have to run in pretty much standard engine specifications and radial tyres – no slicks, rain, or “new pattern” tyres allowed.

As expected for such a race, there is an enormous variety of cars on track – a brilliant blast from the past.
